Thestreetsarecold presents // Has resell culture gone too far?

it’s been a minute now since anyone HAS been able to pick up recent releases for retail prices. a taboo for many collectors, reselling culture has been ‘blamed’ for ruining the sneaker culture and the community associated. Whilst nike officially DISAGREES with reselling, a recent bloomberg article found ties between Nike vice PRESIDENT and North American manager Ann Herbert, and West Coast Streetwear, a reseller who funnily enough is called JOE HERBERT.

Following the release of the article, on the 2nd of march Ann IMMEDIATELY stepped down from her position at the swoosh company. the article mentioned how her son, Joe Herbert supposedly used his family ties to the former Nike VP and used them to gain access to discounted nike limited releases and racked up an impressive $132,000 order using his mum’s credit card at yeezy supply.

Remember a couple weeks back when a reseller supposedly found 6 pairs of Nike Mags, considering they sell for around $12,000 each, in a random storage? Yep, you guessed it, his name was Joe Herbert. COincidence? We’ll leave that one for you to decide.

Since then the question has arisen… has nike been backdooring its stock all this time? or was this just a one off?
