DUE TO AnnounCEMENTS OF more store closures and staff redundancies everyone thought Gap wOULD soon go into bankruptcy, but After announcing their collaboration with Artist and designer Kanye West, their share prices rocketed, by a whole 39%. This is something we like to call the ‘Ye’ effect.

We all heard the drama surrounding Kanye and his family when earlier this year news of his divorce from TV personality and entrepreneur Kim Kardashian hit the socials. Many fans and other members of the public speculated that Kanye might go in to ‘hiding’ and stay quiet as he’s done in the past, And many more are still waiting for the new album which has been teased several times alongside the drop of his highly-coveted Yeezy Collections and now the GAP x Yeezy collaboration.

Gap CEO Sonia Syngal was able to confirm that Kanye is still focused and working hard on the upcoming collection. I guess we can all agree on what we’re most waiting for, ‘the perfect hoodie’ which west teased last year initially as a collaboration with Costco or Walmart.
